Our Journey to Creating a Safe and Nurturing Space for Children

Dear Play Haven Community,

We are excited to share the latest developments in our journey to establish Play Haven Child Care—a space dedicated to nurturing and educating the youngest members of our community. As we work toward building a facility that will serve as a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children, we want to keep you informed about the steps we are taking and how you can get involved.

1. Progress on Fundraising Initiatives

Our board of directors has been hard at work developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to bring our vision of Play Haven Child Care to life, and are pleased to announce that, thanks to the generosity of early donors and supporters, we’ve made significant progress toward our fundraising goal. However, we still have a way to go, and we’re calling on the entire community to help us reach the finish line.

2. Upcoming Fundraising Events

To boost our efforts, we have several exciting fundraising events planned in the coming months:

Football Ticket Raffles (Ongoing): · Football Ticket Raffles (September): Don’t miss your chance to win tickets to upcoming games for Iowa State, Iowa, and/or Nebraska! Raffle tickets are available for purchase from all of our board members and online, with all proceeds going directly to our building fund, and the tickets are graciously donated by local community members.
Play Haven Market (TBD): Come shop at our Play Haven Market, featuring handmade crafts, local goodies, and unique gifts. It’s a perfect opportunity to support local artisans while contributing to our cause, not to mention getting a start on your Holiday shopping!
Breakfast with Santa (December 8th): Kick off the holiday season with a magical breakfast with Santa Claus! This family-friendly event will include a delicious meal, holiday crafts, and photo opportunities with Santa. There may be more of a reason for families to attend, more to come. Mark your calendars!

3. How You Can Help

There are many ways you can support Play Haven Child Care’s fundraising efforts:

Donate: Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal. Donations can be made directly on our website, during any of our fundraising events., or dropped off at Rolling Hills Bank in Walnut, Iowa.
Volunteer: We are looking for volunteers to help organize and run our events. If you have some time to spare and a passion for community service, we would love to have you on board.
Spread the Word: Help us reach more people by sharing our mission with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know about Play Haven, the more support we can gather.

4. Our Vision for Play Haven Child Care

We believe that every child deserves a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Play Haven Child Care will be more than just a child care facility; it will be a community hub where children can explore their creativity, develop essential skills, and build lasting friendships. Our center will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, outdoor play areas, and a curriculum designed to foster holistic development.
